SO NEXT MONTH YOU'LL SEE THE SCORECARD, BUT I JUST WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT AS WE CLICK ALONG FOR THE NEXT THREE, IT'LL BE, I NORMALLY TRY TO PUT THEM TOGETHER IN, IN, IN TERMS OF PROVIDING YOU WITH, WITH AN UPDATE ONCE [00:40:01] A QUARTER. AND THE REASON I DO THAT IS BECAUSE, UM, AND I'LL JUST STOP HERE 'CAUSE I THINK IT'S, IT'S IMPORTANT TO KIND OF DRILL DOWN ON IT. WHEN, WHEN I FIRST CAME ON BOARD, I THINK, UM, I KNOW THAT STAFF WAS BEING ASKED TO PRODUCE SEVERAL, I I THINK I COUNTED ALMOST 20 SOME ODD AD HOC REPORTS THAT REALLY DIDN'T HAVE A WHOLE BUNCH OF, OF, OF, OF, OF, OF USE TO THEM. AND SO WHAT I TRY TO DO IS GIVE YOU THE DEPARTMENT UPDATES EVERY QUARTER AND THEN THE, THE DEPARTMENT SCORECARD EVERY QUARTER, WHICH SHOWS YOU ALL THE THINGS AND THE ACTIVITIES THAT, THAT YOU ALL ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR AND THAT WE ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR, UM, AS AN INDICATOR OF, YOU KNOW, WHERE WE'RE HEADED IN TERMS OF DIRECTION. AND SO I'LL STOP HERE FOR ANY OR ANYTHING KIND OF ABOUT OUR, OUR PRIORITIES, UM, AS WE'VE LAID THEM OUT. AND SO WE MAKE SURE THAT WE'RE THERE REPRESENTING WHAT OUR OPPORTUNITIES ARE, SOME 1500 ATTENDEES. UM, SO, YOU KNOW, IT'S A BUSY TIME, BUT IT'S, IT'S, IT'S GOOD TO BE IN THE, IN THE PLACE. UM, ONE OF THE THINGS WHICH AGAIN, JUST THAT BODY OF WORK I REALLY ASKED STAFF AND THAT, THAT WE WORK ON VERY CLOSELY IS WE DID A COUPLE HIRING EVENTS WITH DALLAS WATER. WE DID HIRING EVENTS IN NOVEMBER AND DECEMBER [00:45:01] WITH THE DALLAS POLICE DEPARTMENT. AS YOU KNOW, THAT'S AN ONGOING NEED IN ORDER TO DO THAT. AND SO MY WHOLE THING HAS BEEN WE NEED TO MOVE BEYOND JOB FAIRS BUT MOVE INTO HIRING EVENTS BECAUSE INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE LOOKING FOR EMPLOYMENT, THEY'RE NOT LOOKING FOR A FAIR, THEY'RE LOOKING FOR A JOB. UM, AND VERY LASER FOCUSED AND INTENTIONAL ABOUT THESE ARE THE POSITIONS WE'RE BRINGING, HERE'S WHERE WE THINK WE NEED TO GO GET THAT TALENT IS REALLY, UM, HOW I LIKE TO USE OUR TIME AND RESOURCES AS IT RELATES TO INTERACTING WITH THE PUBLIC. BECAUSE THE ONE THING WE MUST ALSO REMEMBER IS THAT, YOU KNOW, BEING A PUBLIC EMPLOYER OF THIS SIZE AND THIS NATURE, UM, WE ARE SEEN BY THE COMMUNITY AS A, AS A, AS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY, YOU KNOW, TO BETTER ONE'S LIFE. AND SO ONE OF THE THINGS I, I TRY TO MAKE SURE THAT I STRESS IS THAT, UM, WE'RE, YOU KNOW, PEOPLE CAN'T WAIT WEEKS AND WEEKS TO BE EMPLOYED. UH, YOU KNOW, JUST LIKE THOSE WHO OF US WERE EMPLOYED NEED TO BE PAID EVERY TWO WEEKS, THE CLOCK IS TICKING. AND SO IT'S ABOUT, YOU KNOW, MAKING THOSE SMALLER EVENTS THAT CAN KIND OF STREAMLINE AND GET US TO HIRE WITH THE RIGHT CANDIDATES, REALLY, TO ME SEEMS TO BE THE BEST USE OF TIME. AND I, AND I BROUGHT ALL UP THAT TO SAY IS BECAUSE WE HAVE SOME PEOPLE WHO, WHO HAVE GROWN FRUSTRATED WITH THE HIRING PROCESS AND, YOU KNOW, JUST HOW IT TAKES.
