UM, SO JUST A, A QUICK RECAP FOR 2023 ARE THE MAIN POINTS THAT I WOULD JUST LIKE TO HIGHLIGHT, UM, UH, OF SOME OF THE ACCOMPLISHMENTS THAT WE HAVE HAD IN 2023.

UM, THE FIRST, AND, AND DIANE WAS, UH, VERY, UM, HELPFUL IN HELPING US WITH OUR SELECTION OF, UH, FOR CONTRACTOR FOR PRE-CONSTRUCTION WORK.

AND SO WE WERE ABLE TO SELECT, UM, THROUGH AN RFB PROCESS, UM, A CONTRACT FOR PRE-CONSTRUCTION THAT WAS AWARDED TO BECK CONSTRUCTION.

AND, UM, MARCUS ON THE PROJECT MANAGEMENT TEAM SIDE IS WORKING, UM, DILIGENTLY WITH BECK, UM, WITH ALL THE PRE-CONSTRUCTION WORK.

AND WE STARTED 2023.

OUR WEST, UM, OVERLOOK WAS ROUGHLY AT ABOUT 35% DESIGN AND ABOUT HARD WORK THROUGH, UH, MARCUS ROSHI AND THE ENTIRE TEAM.

WE WERE ABLE TO ADVANCE THAT TO A 65%, UM, DESIGN.

AND, UM, WE'LL SPEAK, UH, IN A LATER SLIDE ABOUT OUR INTENTIONS FOR 2024.

AND THEN, UM, TO PASTOR PARKER'S POINT, UM, MAJORITY OF THE FOCUS IS ON WHAT WE CALL A FIRST BUILD AND A FIRST BUILD BEING THE WEST OVERLOOK.

AND SO, UM, A LOT OF WORK WAS DONE IN EXAMINING, CURATING, PURGING THE DIFFERENT CONTENT MIX THAT WOULD, UM, ULTIMATELY, UH, BE ON THIS SITE, THIS 22 ACRE SITE.

AND WE'LL COVER THAT IN A BIT.

AND, UM, QUITE SIGNIFICANT AS THIS BOARD KNOWS, AS WE WERE WORKING ON THE GEOGRAPHY OF THE PARK AND THE REDESIGN OF THE PARK AND THE CONTENT MIX OF THE PARK, WE WERE INTENTIONAL NOT TO SHARE IN A PUBLIC MANNER UNTIL WE HAD THOSE THINGS FIGURED OUT.

AND SO, UM, WITH LEADERSHIP, UM, AND, AND FROM THIS BOARD, WE WERE ABLE ON DECEMBER 3RD TO HAVE A FORMAL SHARING OF, UH, WHERE THE PARK IS IN TERMS OF DESIGN AND GEOGRAPHY.

AND SO THAT WAS QUITE SIGNIFICANT AND THAT WAS ALSO EVIDENCED BY THE SHARING OF A HAROLD SIMMONS PARK.ORG WEBSITE AS WELL.

SO THOSE ARE JUST HIGH LEVEL 2023.

UM, FROM HERE WE WILL JUST, UM, GIVE SARAH A CHANCE TO GIVE A QUICK UPDATE ON THE FINANCES.

UM, THE FINANCIALS, AS YOU SEE BEFORE YOU AND AS WERE PASSED OUT, UM, REPRESENT THE SIGNIFICANT WORK THAT WAS ACCOMPLISHED BY THE CONSERVANCY IN 2023.

A COUPLE OF THINGS TO NOTE AND THEN I'LL BE HAPPY TO TAKE ANY QUESTIONS THAT YOU MAY HAVE.

UH, FIRST IS YOU'LL SEE THAT REVENUE LAGGED IN 2023.

THIS WAS INTENTIONAL.

UM, AS WE WERE SETTING OUR GEOGRAPHY AS TONY SPOKE, WE WERE QUIET IN THE COMMUNITY AND QUIET IN THE PUBLIC.

I'M GONNA ORDER TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE FINAL PRODUCT WOULD BE FOR THE WEST OVERLOOK.

SINCE WE WENT PUBLIC IN DECEMBER, WE'VE HAD A PICKUP OF OF DONATIONS.

UM, WE ALSO HAVE LOTS OF MEETINGS SET FOR THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2024.

UM, WE STILL REMAIN IN THE QUIET CULTIVATION PHASE WITH A PUBLIC LAUNCH LATER THIS YEAR IN 2024.

UM, ON THE EXPENSE SIDE, THAT REFLECTS ALL THE HARD WORK THAT TONY MENTIONED, UM, SPECIFICALLY THAT INCLUDES OUR FULLY STAFFED, UM, ORGANIZATION AS CONTEMPLATED IN 2023.

UM, WE ALSO HAD SOME FUNDRAISING CONSULTANTS THAT HELPED US BE POISED FOR THE 2024 PUBLIC CAMPAIGN, AS WELL AS ADVANCING THE WEST OVERLOOK DESIGN BY NBBA AND ALSO ANCILLARY DESIGNS HAVING TO

DO WITH PERMITTING AND ZONING AND THE OPERATION MAINTENANCE OF THE PARK.

UM, MOREOVER, WE ALSO DID SOME STUDIES, AS WE KNOW, UH, GREAT CIVIC SPACES DO AN ECONOMIC LIFT FOR THE, FOR THE CITIES IN WHICH THEY'RE BUILT.

AND OUR LAST ECONOMIC STUDY WAS DONE IN 2019 KNOWING THAT THE PANDEMIC HAPPENED AND THE SHAPE OF THE PARK HAS CHANGED.

UM, WE HAVE ALSO RENEWED, UM, OUR COMMITMENT TO GETTING AN ECONOMIC IMPACT STUDY, WHICH WILL BE RE READY LATER IN 2024.

UM, SO THAT REFLECTS ALL THE SIGNIFICANT WORK THAT WE'VE DONE.

WE CAME IN UNDER BUDGET DUE TO TIMING, UM, BUT NOW WE ARE POISED AND READY TO GO, UM, TO HAVE SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS GETTING TO A HUNDRED PERCENT DESIGN IN 2024.

AND, UM, AS TONY WE'LL TALK ABOUT A LITTLE BIT LATER, SOME SIGNIFICANT PUBLIC MILESTONES.

WHAT'S THE REASONING BEHIND THAT? SO AGAIN, PART OF THAT WAS JUST BEING VERY INTENTIONAL AND AS WE MOVE ALONG, UM, THERE WAS A LOT OF MOVING PARTS WITH, I CALL IT THE FINALIZING OF THE GEOGRAPHY.

AND SO, UM, WE, WE JUST TOOK OUR TIME TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAD THE GEOGRAPHY PROPER, UM, THAT WOULD, UM, SUPPORT A, A, A GOOD PART THAT WE ALSO HAD THE RIGHT CONTENT MIX FOR THOSE GEOGRAPHY.

AND ONCE THAT WAS FIGURED OUT, UM, AND ALSO ALIGNED, UM, FROM A BUDGETARY POINT OF VIEW, THEN WE WENT PUBLIC.

BUT THE CA THE PUBLIC CAMPAIGN SIDE OF RAISING, I WANNA BE CLEAR IN SAYING THAT IT HAS BEEN A PRIVATE IN EFFORT THUS FAR.

AND, UH, UH, PROJECTS OF THIS SCALE IS, IS IS DONE PRIMARILY IN A VERY, VERY PUBLIC AND UM, MANNER.

AND SO, UM, WE HAVE NOT GOTTEN TO THE PUBLIC SIDE OF THE CAMPAIGN.

WE WERE BUDGETED TO DO IT IN 2023, BUT I'M PLEASED TO SAY THAT, UM, THE PUBLIC CAMPAIGN HAS BEGUN AT THE, AT THE VERY END OF 2023 AND, UM, WE'LL PICK SOME MOMENTUM UP IN 2024.

IT WILL ULTIMATELY COMPLIMENT ALL THE BUILT ENVIRONMENTS THAT'S ON THE, WHAT WE CALL THE OVERLOOKS THAT DRAWS ATTENTION TO THE CENTER OF THE LEVEE.

AND I'M ALWAYS STILL SHOCKED WHEN DALLAS SITES WILL, I, I HEAR THAT THEY SAY WE HAVE A RIVER IN FORT WORTH, BUT WE DON'T HAVE A RIVER IN DALLAS.

AND SO, UM, THE RIVER IS AT THE VERY CENTER OF THIS PARK AND, AND WE'RE GONNA BE INTENTIONAL ABOUT IT.

SO SPEAKING ABOUT THE RIVER AND THE NATURE, UM, WE HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY, AND I I WOULD SAY AN OBLIGATION AS ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDS TO LET THE NATURE PRESERVE THE AREA BETWEEN THE LEVIES.

UM, SERVE AS THIS SPACE GREENBELT OF UNITY.

UM, WE'RE ALL AWARE OF, UM, AGAIN, I'M PREACHING TO THE CHOIR OF THE, THE, THE ON UNINTENDED CIRCUMSTANCES OF THE LEVEES, A 30 FOOT LEVEE THAT ULTIMATELY BECAME DIVIDERS.

AND SO THAT'S VERY SIGNIFICANT WHEN YOU'RE BUILDING AND EXPANDING, UH, THE, FOR THE CONVENTION CENTER.

CONVENTION AREAS NEED SOMEWHERE FUN TO GO AFTER MEETINGS.

AND SO WE'RE VERY OPTIMISTIC

AND SO TO HAVE THAT BACKDROP BUILT INTO A PARK ENVIRONMENT, UM, LINEAR PARKS HAVE DONE QUITE WELL, AND ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR ONE IS PROBABLY THE HIGHLINE.

AND SO WE SEE A LOT OF POTENTIAL IN THIS HALF A MILE, TWO ACRE LINEAR PARK BEING INCORPORATED IN THE PARK.

AND WE'RE TRULY EXCITED ABOUT THAT.

AS YOU GO WEST OFF THE, UH, RON , JUST THE FELIX LAZADA GATEWAY.

AND THE NEXT SLIDE SHOWS, UM, A RENDERING OF THAT AREA.

UM, WHAT WE'RE HOPING TO DO AND HAVE BEEN ADVANCING A DESIGN IS TO ADD A SERIES OF SPORT COURTS IN THIS AREA.

THE DESIGN, THE THE RENDERING HERE SHOWS, UM, A A CENTRAL, UH, APPLICATION TO THESE PARKS.

WE'VE SINCE CHANGED THAT TO A MORE LINEAR FORMAT THAT WILL ALLOW US TO KEEP THE 80 PARKING SPOTS THAT'S THERE.

UM, YOU CAN SEE THE PROXIMITY TO THE RONCO BRIDGE, AND THEN NORTH IN THIS PICTURE IS WHAT IS, WILL BE, UM, A SKATING RINK.

AND THE NEXT PICTURE JUST SHOWS A LITTLE BIT A BETTER ILLUSTRATION OF THE SKATING RINK.

I'M SORRY, UM, UH, UH, OUR CAFE THAT WILL COMPLIMENT THIS AREA.

AND FOR THE SPORT COURTS, UM, IT'S, UM, AN INTERNATIONALLY LINED SPORT, COURTS THAT ARE FLEXIBLE FOR MULTI-USE FOR BASKETBALL, VOLLEYBALL, STREET SOCCER, AND, UM, THE FASTEST GROWING SPORT IN AMERICA BEING PICKLEBALL.

AND SO WE'RE EXCITED IN HOW THIS AREA WILL BE TRANSFORMED.

AND SO I WANTED TO TAKE A QUICK OPPORTUNITIES TO WALK THROUGH A SERIES OF DIFFERENT ATTRACTIONS AND COMPONENTS THAT WILL, THE BUILT AMENITIES THAT WILL BE ON THIS 22 ACRES.

AND THIS IS THE AREA WE REFERRED TO AS THE WEST OVERLOOK.

WE HAVE APPROXIMATELY 20 DIFFERENT EXPERIENCES THAT WILL BE IN THIS SPACE.

AND SO LANDSCAPING IS A HUGE PART OF, UM, THIS PARK AND HOW IT WILL HELP TREES AND PLANTS WILL HELP TO MITIGATE A HEAT ISLAND IMPACT, BUT ALSO THE SOFT SCAPING THAT IT ADDS.

UM, THERE'S OVER 1,500 TREES, UM, UH, FORECASTED FOR THIS WEST OVERLOOK.

AND OVER 3000, UM, SHRUBS AND OVER A HUNDRED THOUSAND PLANTS.

AND SO THIS IS A LANDSCAPE PARK.

THIS IS A, A PARK THAT WILL BE INTENTIONAL WITH A LOT OF SUSTAINABLE AND ENVIRONMENTAL APPLICATIONS AND HOW THE PARK IS EXPERIENCED GOING THROUGH A SERIES OF, UH, THE NEXT SET OF SLIDES, UM, THAT SHOWS A CLOSEUP OF WHAT WE'RE PROPOSING FOR AN EVENT BUILDING.

UM, IN PART CONSTRUCTION, OFTENTIMES, UM, WHAT QUICKLY GETS VALUED, ENGINEERED OUT IS THE OPPORTUNITY TO HAVE A BUILDING.

AND THE BUILDING IS IN THIS BUILDING WILL BE HOUSED A GUEST SERVICED AREA, AND THIS BUILDING WILL BE HOUSED ROOMS FOR STEM OR STEAM EDUCATION.

AND THIS BUILDING WILL BE HOUSED SPACE FOR SPECIAL EVENTS FOR HOSTING EVENTS.

AND WE WANTED TO BE INTENTIONAL IN HAVING A SPACE THAT'S, UM, UH, SEPARATE FROM THE PARK TO AVOID THE SENSE THAT PARK VISITORS FEEL THAT EVERY TIME THEY COME, AN AIR IS CLOSED OFF A PRIVATE EVENT.

SO IT'S INTENDED TO HAVE, UM, RIGHT NOW IT'S A 300 SEATER SPECIAL EVENT AREA.

IT'S ELEVATED, AND THE REASON FOR THE ELEVATION AS SHOWN IN THIS IMAGE IS TO CAPTURE THE VISUALS AGAIN OF THE DOWNTOWN SKYLINE.

THIS, THIS PARK WILL FEEL LIKE DALLAS WILL BE VERY DALLAS CENTRIC AND WILL CELEBRATE THE, THE, THE ICONIC IMAGES OF DALLAS.

AND SO, UM, OUR DESIGNERS, UM, UH, LAKE PLATO IS BEING, UM, IS WORKING VERY HARD.

YOU CAN SEE, UM, ON THE SCISSOR, THE SAWTOOTH ROOFTOPS, THERE IS, UM, SOLAR CONSIDERATIONS AGAIN.

UM, THERE'S A CONSCIOUS EFFORT FROM A SUSTAINABILITY WITH OUR DESIGN, WHETHER THROUGH MASS TIMBER OR THROUGH SOLAR OR THROUGH PLANT OR HEAT ISLAND REDUCTION.

THAT WILL BE VERY INTENTIONAL IN OUR DESIGN.

AND SO WE'RE EXCITED IN HOW THIS WILL BE INCORPORATED IN THE PART.

AND THIS WILL BE A MULTI-USE SHED FOR PROGRAMMING FOR, UM, UH, FARMER'S MARKETS FOR, I CALL IT SOPHISTICATED FLEA MARKETS, BUT THE SPACE WILL BE QUITE UNIQUE AND WOULD BE VERY DYNAMIC, AND HOW WE CAN CONVERT IT TO, UM, SPACES FOR ART CRAWL OR FOR EDUCATION CLASSROOMS JUST TOTALLY UNLIMITED.

UM, UH, WE'LL BE LIMITED BY OUR IMAGINATION AND HOW THIS SPACE COULD BE USED.

AND SO, UH, MARCUS, OUR DESIGN GROUP IS WORKING WITH A FIRM CALLED, UM, UM, WARNER FIELD TO SEE HOW THIS SPACE COULD BE REIMAGINED.

UM, AS YOU KNOW, ONCE YOU TOUCH A BUILDING LIKE THIS TO MAKE IT READY FOR PUBLIC OCCUPANCY, A LOT OF NEW CONSIDERATIONS GOING INTO IT FROM A, A SAFETY POINT OF VIEW.

AND SO WE'RE GOING THROUGH THAT TO DILIGENCE AS WE SPEAK.

AND SO WE'RE PLEASED TO KNOW TO, TO SHARE THAT.

WE WILL HAVE A SPLASH PAD THAT WE'RE REFERENCING AS THE WATER FACTORY THAT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME DNA THAT RELATES BACK TO THE INDUSTRIAL NATURE OF THE SITE.

BUT THE IDEA IS AN ERROR FOR COOLING AT PRESENT, WE'RE TRYING TO DESIGN THIS IN A MANNER THAT THE WATER USED FOR THIS COOL DOWN WILL THEN SETTLE INTO SYSTEMS AND GET FILTERED AND REUSED FOR IRRIGATION FOR THE PLANT.

SO THERE IS ALSO AN INTENTIONAL RECYCLING FACTOR TO THAT, BUT WE'RE VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS FEATURE AND, UM, WHAT IT WILL MEAN FOR THE COMMUNITY AS THIS WAS ONE OF THE STRONG REQUESTED FEATURES FROM THEM.

NEXT, PLEASE, UM, ALSO INCORPORATED IN THE SHED IN THE EASTERN SECTION OF THE SHED IS WHAT WE'RE CALLING A PICNIC GROVE.

AND THAT PICNIC AREAS FOR PARKS ARE VERY SIGNIFICANT.

WE ALSO WILL INCREASE OUR COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AROUND HOUSING, UM, AND, YOU KNOW, TO DR.

KNIGHT'S CONVERSATION AND, UH, ENSURE THAT WE'RE FULLY INTEGRATED IN IN THAT SPACE.

WE ALSO WILL BE ADVANCING BOTH THE PUBLIC AND THE PRIVATE FUNDING EFFORTS AND THE CONVERSATION WE JUST HAVE WITH THE CITY, AS WELL AS EXPANDING PUBLICLY OUR FUNDRAISING, UM, INITIATIVES INTERNALLY AND ALSO INCREASING.

UM, YOU KNOW, I KNOW WE FIND MONEY TO BUY, TO BUILD HIGHWAYS AND ROADS, AND YOU CAN SEE THIS, I CALL IT THE SPAGHETTI BOWL OF HIGHWAYS, RIGHT? AND THE DIVIDE THAT THAT CREATES.

UM, AND LIKE PASTOR PARKER, I GET FRUSTRATED WHERE I SEE A LOT OF, I KNOW THAT'S DIFFERENT FUNDS AND WHERE DIFFERENT FUNDS COME FROM, BUT IT IS FRUSTRATING TO SEE, UM, THE INVESTMENT IN CERTAIN ASPECTS.
