UM, I'D LIKE TO MAKE A FEW COMMENTS ON THE FRONT END OF THIS, UH, THAT, BUT SOME OF THE, SOME OF THE WAYS THAT THIS REPORT CAME ABOUT AND, UH, SOME OF THE SHORTCOMINGS OF THE PROCESS. AND I WILL, UH, ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WE SHOULD HAVE HAD SOME MEETINGS TO DISCUSS KINDS OF THINGS THAT THE MEMBERSHIP AT LARGE WANTS TO OR THINK SHOULD BE INCORPORATED INTO THIS. AND SO IT'S MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THAT DATA HAS NOW BEEN RELEASED AND WE'RE GONNA BE REQUESTING OF THEM TO UPDATE THE DATA WITH THE MOST RECENT AVAILABLE THINGS. AND I'M GONNA TRY TO GET A DEADLINE PUT OUT IT SO THAT THAT WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR THE FUNDING PRIORITIES MEMO TO BE PART OF THAT MEMO WITH PRESSURE DATA. UM, I THINK THAT IT, THE REPORT OF AN OUTSTANDING JOB OF ACCOMPLISHING WHAT IS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT IT IS MEANT TO DO, WHICH IS SIMPLY TO PROVIDE A REPORT OF WHAT WE DID, NOT NECESSARILY OF OUR FORWARD STRATEGY OR A PLAN IN THE FUTURE, BUT WHAT ACTUALLY WAS ACCOMPLISHED, RECOGNIZING THAT AS A COMMISSION, WE HAVE A, A LIMITED SET OF CAPABILITY TO ACCOMPLISH CERTAIN THINGS BECAUSE OUR MAIN OBJECTIVE IS SIMPLY TO PROVIDE INPUT TO THE CITY COUNCIL. AND SO I, WHAT I THINK THAT DOES A REALLY NICE JOB OF DOING THOUGH, IS INCORPORATING ALL OF THE DATA TALKED ABOUT IN A WAY THAT CAN HELP ENGENDER SUPPORT FOR EVERYTHING THAT WE'RE FOCUSED ON BY USING FACTS [00:15:01] AND FIGURES TO DEMONSTRATE THAT THERE IS A VERY VULNERABLE POPULATION IN THE CITY OF DALLAS THAT NEEDS HELP, BUT ALSO IN A WAY THAT WE OUTLINE WHAT THE CHALLENGES ARE. THOSE SERVICES AREN'T WELL COMMUNICATED. SO A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T KNOW ABOUT THEM. THEY'RE NOT WELL COORDINATED. SO THERE'S NOT A COHESIVENESS FOR THESE SERVICES TO BE PROVIDED AT A PUBLIC AND PRIVATE LEVEL. AND THEN THERE NEEDS TO BE A, AN ATTEMPT TO DEVELOP A MORE STRATEGIC PLAN THAT CAN HELP MAKE THE COORDINATION AND COMMUNICATION ACTUALLY POSSIBLE. SO I THINK THAT THE REPORT DOES A REALLY NICE JOB OF DEMONSTRATING USING THE FACTS AND FIGURES TO SUPPORT WHAT I THINK IS ALL OF OUR GOAL, WHICH IS TO IMPROVE THE LIVES OF SENIORS IN DALLAS. UM, AND, AND THE VARIETY OF SENIORS IN DALLAS. NOT JUST CERTAIN SETS OF THOSE SENIORS, BUT ALL ACROSS THE CITY. SO, UM, I THINK THAT THE REPORT DOES A REALLY NICE JOB. I AGREE. I SECOND THAT. AND THEN YOU'VE GOT PARKS AND REC, WHICH ARE A MAJOR COMPONENT OF WHAT IS DONE FOR SENIORS THROUGH THE ASAP PROGRAM AND THROUGH SOME OF THE COMMUNAL FEEDING PROGRAMS THAT THE COUNTY PROVIDES AT OUR FACILITIES. AND THEY REPORT IN A TOTALLY DIFFERENT DIRECTION THAT ISN'T EVEN TO COUNCIL. THEY, IT PARKS THE REC BOARD REALLY, MAN, YOU KNOW, IS A TOTALLY DIFFERENT REPORTING STRUCTURE. SO I THINK THE REAL KEY IS TO CREATE A COMMUNICATIONS NETWORK AMONG ALL THOSE VARIOUS THINGS THAT CAN BE COMPILED IN ONE CENTRAL LOCATION, WHICH TABITHA IS, UH, ROLE IS A SIGNIFICANT PART OF OUR ROLE THAT'S GOING TO DO THAT. UH, SO THAT WE AT LEAST ARE AMASSING ALL THE INFORMATION ON WHAT THE CITY DOES DO.
