UM, AS HE MENTIONED, I RECENTLY WAS THE LANGUAGE ACCESS COORDINATOR FOR THE CITY OF DALLAS WITH THE OFFICE OF EQUITY AND INCLUSION.

SO MY ROLE WAS CREATING POLICIES AND PROCEDURES TO MAKE SPACES MORE LANGUAGE ACCESSIBLE FOR OUR MULTILINGUAL RESIDENTS HERE IN THE CITY OF DALLAS.

I'M REALLY HAPPY TO BE BACK HERE IN THE OFFICE OF ARTS AND CULTURE.

IT REALLY FEELS LIKE I CAME BACK HOME SINCE THIS IS WHERE I STARTED WITH THE CITY OF DALLAS.

THERE'S PARTICULAR TOWNS AS FAR AS ASHEVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA, UH, DOWNTOWN SAN FRANCISCO OR WHAT HAVE YOU, THAT HAVE REALLY TRANSFORMED THE AREA WITH THAT.

MY FOCUS AND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT, UH, PLANNING AND, AND, AND INVESTMENT AND EVEN NOW REPRESENTING FAMILY OFFICES OF PRIVATE CLIENTS IS REALLY, UH, INVESTING WHERE THERE'S IMPACT, WHERE WE CAN SEE NOT JUST A A PHILANTHROPIC BOND, BUT A TANGIBLE TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT EXCHANGE.

AND SO THE ARTS BEAUTIFYING AREA AND WHAT WE'RE FOCUSED ON RIGHT NOW IS CONTINUING TO TO BEAUTIFY AND GROW DALLAS, NOT ONLY JUST IN THE BOOM THAT EVERYBODY SEES WITH THE MASS CORPORATION MOVING HERE, SO ON AND SO FORTH, BUT DALLAS AS A WHOLE.

AND THAT'S REALLY OUR FOCUS TO, TO PROVIDE TRUE EQUITY, TRUE DEVELOPMENT, AND TRUE GROWTH TECHNICALLY AND TANGIBLY THROUGH THE ARTS.

SO THAT'S THAT INNER CIRCLE, THAT OUTER CIRCLE IS ALL OF OUR, UH, DIFFERENT PORTFOLIOS OR FOUNDATIONAL STRUCTURES AND HOW THAT SORT OF ADDS UP WITH OUR REVENUE, RIGHT? AND SO YOU'LL SEE THAT OUR SAFE, UH, PORTFOLIO, WHICH IS POLICE AND FIRE COUNTS FOR 62% OF OUR GENERAL FUND EXPENDITURE.

UH, ADDRESSING SPACE SUPPORT FOR ARTISTS, SUSTAINABLE ARTS ECOSYSTEM AND COMMUNICATIONS.

ON THE RECORD ON TUESDAY AND THE ALLOCATIONS MEETING, WE DID DISCUSS, YOU KNOW, OUR INTENT TO SUNSET THE 2018 CULTURAL PLAN AND AN EFFORT TO, ONE, ENGAGE WITH THE COMMUNITY ON SOME NEW STRATEGIC INITIATIVES AND PRIORITIES.

AS THAT 2018 PLAN IS NOW SEVEN YEARS OLD WITH A SEVEN TO 10 IMPLEMENTATION PHASE, IT'S TIME TO SUNSET.

AND OF COURSE, NATURALLY THINGS SHIFTED SO MUCH AFTER THAT PLAN AND POLICY CHANGED GIVEN COVID, ET CETERA.

IT'S JUST TIME TO REVISIT, UH, THE STAKEHOLDERS, UM, WISHES AND DESIRES AND NEEDS AND, AND PLAN BOARD WITH A NEW 2.0 IF YOU WILL.

UH, SECONDLY, UH, WE'LL BE FACILITATING CULTURAL CELEBRATIONS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, AS ALWAYS, PRIORITIZING CITY OWNED, CITY OWNED, CULTURAL VENUE REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE FOR DEFERRED AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE, AND ESTABLISHED A PORTFOLIO, UM, A NEEDS INVENTORY SO THAT WE ARE CONTINUOUSLY TRACKING, UM, AND, AND, AND CARING FOR OUR CULTURAL VENUES.

NEXT, UM, WE WILL BE DEDICATING A HIGH LEVEL STAFF MANAGEMENT TEAM MEMBER, UH, TO FACILITATE OUR BOND COORDINATION WITH THE BOND OFFICE BETWEEN THE CITY AND ALL THE VENUES WHO ARE, UM, YOU KNOW, NOTED AS, UH, CULTURAL VENUES THAT WERE NOTED IN THE PROPOSITION E FOR THE 2024 BOND PROGRAM.

WE'RE INCREASING OUR PROACTIVE MAINTENANCE AND CONSERVATION TO ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF OUR PUBLIC ARTWORK ACROSS THE CITY OF DALLAS.

AND WE'RE ALSO ALWAYS WORKING TO ADVANCE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT AND STORYTELLING AROUND DIVERSE CULTURES BY INCREASING STORIES ON OUR CITY'S TV CHANNELS AND IN SPECIFIC MEDIA OUTLETS AS WELL.

SO THIS ONE IS TALKING ABOUT OUR SERVICE BUDGET.

SO WE'RE LOOKING AT LARGER BUCKETS OF OUR SEARCH OPERATION IN GENERAL, RIGHT? SO THIS FIRST LINE THAT YOU'LL SEE IS OUR HOTEL ACTIVITY TAX, UM, PROJECTIONS FOR THE NEXT TWO YEAR, OUR CURRENT YEAR IN THE NEXT TWO YEARS.

SO THAT'S RIGHT, THOSE, THOSE, UH, HOT DOLLARS THAT WE, UH, ABSORB THAT 15%.

OH YEAH, WELL, NOTING THAT THE 15% IS NOTED IN THE FUTURE FISCAL YEARS, NOT THE CURRENT 'CAUSE CURRENTLY WE'RE IN 12.5% ON THE HOT PERCENTAGE THAT WE RECEIVE.

AND THEN AS OF MARCH OF THIS YEAR, WE'LL BE INCREASING TO 15% OF THAT PORTION IN THE COMING FISCAL YEAR.

WHICH IS GREAT NEWS.

IT IT'S GREAT NEWS.

AND I HOPE THAT AS Y'ALL ARE ATTENDING BUDGET TOWN HALLS, YOU'RE CELEBRATING THAT AND THANKING COUNCIL FOR THEIR SUPPORT IN GETTING US TO THAT 15.

SO I JUST WANNA POINT THAT OUT 'CAUSE THAT LOOKS VERY JARRING, BUT THAT IS NOT THE ACTUAL SORT OF HOW WE'RE SPENDING OUR MONEY, IF YOU WILL.

WHAT I DO WANT TO POINT OUT IS THAT FULL COSTS OF SERVICES RIGHT THERE, WHICH IS REALLY OUR EXPENSE BY THAT, IF YOU WILL, IS THAT, IS THAT FAIR TO SAY? THANK YOU.

UM, AND SO YOU'LL SEE A, UH, A SLIGHT DECREASE BETWEEN CURRENT AND NEXT.

AND AGAIN, REMINDING OURSELVES THAT WITH THAT INCREASE FROM 12.5% TO 15% IN OUR HOT ALLOWS US TO ALLEVIATE GENERAL FUND EXPENSES AND CONTINUE TO MAKE OURSELVES AS WHOLE AS POSSIBLE, RIGHT? OTHER REDUCTIONS THAT WE MADE, UH, WE'RE VERY STRATEGICALLY TAKEN FROM OUR GENERAL FUND BUDGET THAT WOULD ALLOW US TO CONTINUE OUR SERVICE DELIVERY BASICALLY AT, UM, CURRENT YEAR LEVELS MOVING FORWARD.

UM, SO, UH, BOY AND HIS TEAM AND ANNA DID A REALLY, REALLY GREAT JOB FINDING THOSE, UM, THOSE POINTS TO HELP CONTRIBUTE TO THE LARGER MISSION AND GOAL OF OUR BUDGET PRO PLANNING PROCESS THIS YEAR.

UM, AGAIN, TO OUR SERVICE DELIVERIES.

UM, THAT BASICALLY I JUST IS WHEN WE GO INTO OUR NEXT SLIDE, OH, ALSO WIN.

I WILL SAY WE WERE REALLY, REALLY FORTUNATE ALSO BECAUSE OF OUR ABILITY TO KEEP OURSELVES AS WHOLE AS POSSIBLE THAT, UM, WE WERE ABLE TO MAINTAIN OUR STAFF AT THE SAME LEVELS AS WELL.

AND SO EDWARD AND HIS TEAM OF THREE TOTAL ARE COMING IN FISCAL YEAR 26.

AND WE'RE ALSO RECEIVING TWO ADDITIONAL FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES WHO WILL BE OVERSEEING COMMERCIAL FILM PERMITTING AND POLE BANNER MARKETING.

UH, WE DIDN'T DIVE INTO THAT 'CAUSE WE JUST DID A LITTLE NIGHTTIME BRIEFING, BUT NEXT MONTH WE'LL, WE'LL, UH, ROLL OUT THE OFFICE OF SPECIAL EVENTS FACING, UH, TASKS THAT ARE COMING, UH, TO THE OFFICE FIRST AND FISCAL YEAR 26.
