IT WAS A LIFE ALTERING LESSON.

UH, WHEN I LOST THAT, IT WAS AN EYE-OPENING EXPERIENCE FOR ME, YOU KNOW, AND I USED THAT OPPORTUNITY TO ACTUALLY GROW IN MY CAREER.

SO, YOU KNOW, I DEVELOPED A, WHEN I LEFT, UM, YOU KNOW, I KIND OF LOST AN IDENTITY, SO I HAD TO ACTUALLY GROW, BECOME A PROJECT MANAGER, BECAME A TEACHER, YOU KNOW, MULTIPLE OCCUPATIONS.

I JUST KEPT DEVELOPING AND GROWING ON.

UH, RECENTLY LAST YEAR, UH, 2025 IN AUGUST, I WAS ACTUALLY WORKING AS A PROJECT MANAGER, UH, MANAGER.

YOU KNOW, I DID PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST AS WELL.

UH, DURING THAT TIME, THEY ACTUALLY DID, MY COMPANY JUST HAD A FINANCIAL SETBACK, AND THAT WAS A HICCUP FOR ME.

AND I SAW A COUPLE OPPORTUNITIES THAT, UH, I THOUGHT I WOULD, I WOULD FIT VERY WELL FOR WITH THE CITY OF DALLAS.

AND I WANTED TO THROW MY HAT BACK INTO THE RING.

SO THERE'S A COUPLE OF REASONS I WANTED TO REAPPLY.

AND THEN ALSO I WANTED TO KIND OF SHOW, UH, YOU KNOW, HOW MUCH I'VE GROWN AND DEVELOPED SINCE THAT TIME, UH, DURING THAT TIME SINCE I DEPARTED.

BUT WE'VE MOVED THROUGH SECTION CHIEF, LIEUTENANT AND WRITTEN EXAM.

AND SO WE'RE WORKING THROUGH OUR ASSESSMENT CENTERS AND OUR WRITTEN EXAMS. AND SO WE AS, AS WE ALL KNOW, THE CONVENTION CENTER IS UNDER CONSTRUCTION AND RENOVATION.

AND SO WE ARE HAVING TO FIND ALTERNATE LOCATIONS TO HOST MANY OF THESE, UM, WRITTEN EXAMS. AND THE ASSESSMENT CENTERS, WE HAVE PRELIMINARILY IDENTIFIED SPACE AT FAIR PARK FOR OUR WRITTEN EXAMS. AND SO WE'RE CURRENTLY WORKING TO FINALIZE OUR PLANS FOR OUR LIEUTENANT ASSESSMENT CENTER, BUT I'M WORKING VERY CLOSELY WITH THE CONVENTION, UM, CENTER DEPARTMENT TO HELP US WITH THIS TRANSITION AS THE CONVENTION CENTER.

UM, ROOMS ARE OFFLINE RIGHT NOW, SO THIS IS WHAT WE'RE WORKING TOWARDS TO SOLIDIFY THOSE DATES SO WE CAN BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE THOSE AND SUPPORT, UM, THE FIRE OPERATIONS SIDE AS WE ROUND OUT THEIR, THEIR, UH, PROMOTIONS.

AND SO WE ARE REALLY ATTEMPTING TO SUPPORT, UH, AND STRATEGIZE WITH THEM AROUND THAT.
