- All right. Good morning, folks. Uh, ladies and gentlemen, uh, welcome to the, uh, this morning's meeting of the Ethics Advisory Commission for
- . So the first matter of business is approval of the minutes for the April 16th, uh, ethics Advisory Commission, uh, regular
- license appeal board participated by video. So that should just say members of the Ethics Advisory Commission, I believe
- to be rehired, even if that is the recommendation of the, uh, ethics Advisory Commission. Is that right? Uh, Mr. Chair
- , I would say that the Ethics Advisory Commission should not be making recommendations on a former employee's eligibility of
- Advisory Commission, they do not, will not impact the decisions of the Civil Service Board in terms of their ability

- that, when the, um, the Ethics Advisory Commission started exploring having an Inspector General, like so many
- we could get to this process at the charter, the Ethics Advisory Commission has come back to us
- our ethics advisory Commission did the research and brought it to this body, um, and, uh, that we
- and I think we need to listen to our Ethics Advisory Commission. And even if you don't agree
- with it, I think if nothing else goes before the voters, something that our own Ethics Advisory Commission came
- that our own ethics advisory commission came to us with and that we unanimously voted to support, uh

started

Commission has come back to us to reiterate the need for this to be an independent reporting office to the City Council. And why? Well, some of
- . There is an existing budget. And so it just shifts over. So there's not an impact in that area to be felt. Keep in mind that because our Ethics Advisory Commission did the research and brought it
to this body and that we set it up a couple of years ago, we had to
- listen to our ethics Advisory Commission. And even if you don't agree with it, I think if nothing else goes before the voters,
something that our own ethics advisory commission came before us a couple of years ago, pointing us in the direction for this day, it this is it
- this office or not. It's about letting that office have the autonomy that our own ethics advisory commission
came to us with and that we unanimously voted to support a couple of years ago. And so that is what I think that we can discuss it here, but that I think that
decision about
- recommendation. In fact, I've seen recommendations come from the office, the Ethics Advisory Commission
that have been unanimously turned down. So the fact that we got a recommendation does not mean that we are bound to move forward
with that recommendation. And I think
